Museum im Zeughaus
The Museum im Zeughaus Schaffhausen conveys knowledge about the history of Switzerland and its army at two locations: In Schaffhausen in the historic buildings of the Cantonal Armoury and at the Rhine Falls on the SIG site in Neuhausen. Several permanent and special exhibitions and regular events address historical events and topics that were of social, political, economic or military importance for the development of Switzerland. Special attention is usually paid to the connections of individual topics to the Schaffhausen region.
The museum also presents its extensive collection of valuable military and technical items in the exhibitions and in several display depots. The care and preservation of these items are important conservation tasks of the museum. The approximately 50 wheeled and over 20 caterpillar vehicles are in working order and approved for use in traffic.
