Museum zu Allerheiligen Schaffhausen
The Museum zu Allerheiligen is one of Schaffhausen's major attractions. In the centre of Schaffhausen's old town - in the former Benedictine monastery of All Saints - Switzerland's most diverse universal museum takes its visitors on a journey back in time to past worlds.
Unique exhibits and interactive media stations tell of Ice Age hunters, the heyday of the monastery and Schaffhausen's eventful urban and industrial history. An important art collection displays works from the Renaissance to the present day. Archaeological treasures from Mesopotamia to South America are on display in the internationally acclaimed Ebnöther collection of antiquities. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, regular temporary exhibitions focus on current themes. The impressive cathedral, the idyllic herb garden and the largest freely accessible cloister in Switzerland are also part of the overall complex. A visit to the museum always takes place in a very special atmosphere.
