Rheinau Convent Church

Take a visit to the Klosterkirche Rheinau, one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Switzerland.
This church in Rheinau was built according to one in Voralberg: the pilaster hall, transept and altar are slightly raised and separated from the lay nave by means of railings.

Upon entering the church you will notice the impressive and beautiful side altars. They are aligned like an extra setting to the centre, the high altar. The main theme of the church is Maria. The frescoes on the ceiling - that were painted by Francesco Giorgoli from Tessin - still retain their original fresh colours.

The magnificent choir railings were erected by Allweiler and Scheuermann, metalworkers from Constance.
