Roman Thermal Springs Iuliomagus

Visit the covered ruins of the Roman Thermal Springs at the place once called Iuliomagus in Schleitheim.

The buildings known up to now are situated on both sides of the Roman road for about one kilometre. The settlement was once 20 hectares in size.

In the centre was the big bathing complex, which is now open to the public as part of the Thermal Museum. Even though the luxurious setting with mosaics and murals of the wealthy town baths are missing, you still get a good impression of the lavish architecture with the sweat and warm baths and the lead plunge pool.
